Minimalist electronics - maximum sound fidelity
The horn from The-Final focuses on minimalism in its electronics. The cabling and connectors
meet the highest standards: individually routed silver wires and high-quality
WBT-0710 Ag - nextgen™ terminals
ensure lossless signal transmission.
A conventional passive crossover in the signal path is
deliberately omitted - instead, the FIR crossover in Roon ensures perfect connection to
the subwoofer and amplifier.
RME ADI-2/4 Pro SE - professional four-channel DAC, ADC and preamplifier
The outstanding ADI-2/4 Pro SE
in combination with the rooExtend-Box
as streamer and supervisor, controls the horn of The-Final
with utmost finesse and precision. The ADI-2/4 Pro SE also offers one analog and several digital inputs
(Toslink, S/PDIF, AES-EBU), whose signals are fed back to Roon and via the FIR crossover forwarded to the DAC.
The integrated high-quality phono preamplifier allows for the connection of a turntable (MM).
Volume and input selection can be conveniently adjusted using the rooMax remote control of the rooExtend-Box. The four balanced
analog outputs (XLR) supply the subwoofers and a stereo amplifier for the horns. The ESS DAC chips
built into the ADI-2/4 Pro SE ensure superior sound quality.
Amplifier selection - flexible and audiophile
The majority of subwoofers are active, with integrated amplifiers included. They can be connected directly to
the RME ADI-2/4 Pro SE via XLR. Any amplifier can be used for the horns - e.g., a dedicated power amplifier or
even an integrated amplifier. Thanks to the horns' high sensitivity, even less powerful, particularly beautiful-sounding
tube amplifiers can be used, such as Simply Italy
from Unison Research.
But high-quality Class-D amplifiers such as the
Hypex NCx500 ST NCOREx Stereo Amplifier from Apollon also deliver excellent results.
Linear-phase crossovers - music without time smear.
A crucial factor for the audiophile listening experience is the linear phase control of the
crossover. This is the only way for sound waves from the subwoofer and horn to reach the listener in absolute synchrony.
Conventional crossovers, even DSP-based ones, delay the signal and cause asynchrony.
The solution implemented in Roon with the FIR crossover ensures that the bass and horn work seamlessly
together. Acoustically, the speakers disappear completely, leaving only music in all its beauty and spatiality.
The result
With The-Final and its accompanying electronics, a genuine musical experience is created:
precise, vibrant, and emotional. The integration of horn and subwoofer is perfect, so that
the sound appears seamlessly integrated. Listeners experience music not as a technical construction,
but as an immediate, captivating reality.
And here the promise of The-Final:
Music live, intravenous, direct, clear, and with audiophile breadth and depth!
